Revival and Preservation
Fundraising Campaign 2008

The Calloway House, 2005

Welcome, come join me on a journey to preserve the name, image, likeness and legacy of Cab Calloway. We are promoting a series of campaigns, parties, events and concert as a tribute to Cab Calloway's 100th birthday celebration. Hi I am Cecelia Lael Calloway daughter of the legendary Cab Calloway, and I'm here to take you on a journey called the Calloway house revival and preservation campaign.

The Calloway House Revival and Preservation Project encompasses various networking operations and committees producing and promoting Cab Calloway's legacy and centennial. December 25th, 2007 is the one hundred year anniversary of Cab Callaway's birth and we invite you to join us by participating in his Legacy and Centennial designed to portray all aspects of his genius. Among the most significant: seeking to initially purchase old Calloway home, to preserve his legacy and honor the memories of great people who visited to participated in family gatherings, random friendship time, music, parties, special indoor and outdoor occasions (Cab's Birthday and B.B.Q events), etc.

Before his death, Cab expressed a desire that the house be kept to help preserve his musical legacy. Unfortunately that couldn't be done at that time of his death, but fate has smiled on us through providing another opportunity to realize Cab's dream. Cecelia Calloway returned home to pursue his wishes and continue her own musical career she started with Cab at the age of nine, it is an act of serendipity and she's ready to take the Calloway music and legacy to another level with "Yesterday Meets Today".

Our immediate goal is to raise a minimum of 100k to secure purchase of property, partially restore and upgrade house, build and install in-house basement sound recording facility to produce Calloway CD, DVD, music video and documentary projects. Cab's home is where all the celebrities visited. It's an icon/trade mark location and virtually priceless.

When I was a little girl growing up, even appearing on the Ed Sullivan Show with my dad between the ages of 8-9 years old I met so many celebrity friends who even came to visit dad at home. December 25, 2007 we celebrate Cab's 100th birthday with the memories of celebrities dropping by every year on Christmas day to celebrate dad's birthday. Here are some of the many names and pictures of celebrities displayed at home and or on the road;

Duke Ellington, Lena Horne, Nat King Cole, Sammy Davis Jr., Dizzy Gillespie, E.Simms Campbell, Loentyne Price, Pearl Bailey, Slappy White, Jackie Moms Maybley, Gordon Parks, Eddie Hayward, Nipsey Russell, Michael Jackson, Ruby Dee and Osie Davis, Harlem Globe Trotters, Lionel Hampton, Panama Francis, Dave Brubeck, Billy Eistein, Roy Campanalla. Cabs band members; Milt Hinton, Fletcher Henderson, Chu Berry, Cozy Cole, also, David Merrick (Producer of "Hello Dolly"), etc.The many names mentioned above and more will be apart of Cabs private gallery at 1040 Knollwood Rd.

Please come join me with my associates, friends and family in the revival of the Calloway house and preservation campaign. Today on December, 25, 2007 is the first day of our year around Cab Calloway Legacy and centennial fund raising campaign.
